Public Hearing Notice - Rates
April 01, 2026
NOTICE: The Southside Water & Sewer District Board of Directors will conduct a public hearing on April 15, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the District Maintenance Shop, located at 1670 Lakeshore Drive, Sagle, ID 83860.
Pursuant to Idaho Code § 63-1311A, the purpose of this hearing is to consider recommendations to increase water and sewer rates. Certain proposed increases are anticipated to exceed five percent (5%) of current rates. The Board will receive public testimony and written comments regarding these proposed changes.
Proposed Water Rate: The Board recently evaluated several rate models to address rising expenditures without placing an additional burden on the average household. By moving to a 10K-tier system, we can help close operational deficits while keeping water rates unchanged for the majority of our customers.
Under this proposal, the base rate remains $39.20 for the first 10,000 gallons. Incremental rates would only apply to usage exceeding that threshold:
-
11K–20K Gallons: $2.00 / 1k gal
-
21K–30K Gallons: $7.00 / 1k gal
-
31K+ Gallons: $12.00 / 1k gal
Proposed Sewer Rate: The proposed sewer rate adjustment includes a 5% increase per ERU to address rising expenditures and prior year maintenance and operational deficits. This reflects a monthly increase of $3.59, bringing the new rate to $75.44 per month.
Current rates and fees are listed below:
Monthly Water Base Charge: Per ERU $39.20 plus tiered rates as follows
12,000 gallons per month included in the Base Rate
12-23K gal $1.25 per 1,000 gal used
24-39K gal $2.00 per 1,000 gal used
40-79K gal $5.00 per 1,000 gal used
Over 79K gal $10.00 per 1,000 gal used
Monthly Sewer Charge: Per ERU $71.85
